A New Year A New Thing

“… Do not dwell in the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! … Do you not perceive it?”

~ Isaiah 43:18

Every day God is doing a brand new thing.

A new sunrise and sunset. New mercies every single morning.

The new year is a perfect time to take a pause and see all the brand new things God has in store.

Do I perceive it?  Can I see the new thing God is doing?

Letting go of  all past distraction I notice my vision becomes clearer for the future.

The past isn’t only the negative things, its the positive things as well.

Holding on to success from the past confines our sight to the boundaries of those memories.

God has plans to surpass even the good things in our past.

Our past doesn’t define us.  Neither the good or the bad.

Rather we are defined by the identity given to us by God himself.

His child.  Loved.  With purpose and hope for a brand new thing.

I really like the idea of forgetting the past and forging ahead with God. I have a tendency to dwell in the past and I must remember that God is faithful to His promises!

“Holding on to success from the past confines our sight to the boundaries of those memories.” I LOVE THAT! Those 16 words preach volumes. Happy New Year!
